With its steam-heated “paddle” shaft construction that exceeds A.S.M.E. Code, and up to 4,400 square feet of heat transfer surface, the Supercookor is the most durable and efficient rendering cooker available for continuous cooking applications. Low agitator rpm means gentle cooking action; end-point temperature and operating level are easy to control. Every part of this high-capacity feather hydrolyzer that touches product is constructed of stainless steel. Proven screw feeder technology provides a positive seal for the hydrolyzing vessel, and a steam-heated agitator shaft ensures optimum heat transfer and steam efficiency. Valve-controlled product discharge maintains a proper residence time and minimizes steam use.
Heated jacket Batch Cookers offer up to 10,000 lb. (4,500 kg) capacity, and feature a special agitator arm design that evenly distributes dry products—ideal for feather hydrolyzing and similar applications. Discor's rotary disc 'closed-loop' steam system prevents condensate and non-condensable gas build-up in the discs for more efficient heat transfer. Discor also features extra corrosion allowance, and fewer exposed welds, on the discs for longer life. Discor's durable, rigid drive mounting features a direct-coupled, base-mounted reducer. The Dupps Airless Dryer offers a number of important operational benefits over conventional hot air dryers:
• There is minimal risk of in-drum fires because of the oxygen- starved environment.
• It's an indirect heated dryer—the products of combustion are isolated from the process loop of the dryer.
• Minimal odor control equipment is needed.
• There is no visible plume of dryer exhaust.
• The dryer's exhaust is essentially water vapor, which can be condensed to recover thermal energy and used elsewhere in the plant.
• No pressure vessel is required because the dryer operates at atmospheric pressure.
• Exhaust volume is much less than comparable heated air dryers. So if an RTO is used, it will be considerably smaller, and less expensive.
